Nottingham Forest-Leicester City Preview

Leicester City prop up the Premier League, but Brendan Rodgers said his problems have been put into perspective by a trip to a hospice.

The Foxes have taken only one point from their seven games and face fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest on Monday.

Rodgers took advantage of the international break to return to Northern Ireland, where he visited a hospice in Belfast – a trip that he explained helped him revaluate the importance of his plight at Leicester.

"It was a chance to put things into perspective," he told reporters. "There is a children's hospice and an adults' hospice. Life is put in perspective there.

"You think you suffer in football and you do in terms of results but it is much bigger than that. I took the senior staff for a couple of days after the Tottenham game to go and reflect and talk and play a bit of golf. I took them to Loch Lomond and played a couple of days there which was very nice.

"We all have bad moments in whatever it is but the key is to not go and be on your own. It is so important. We had a nice couple of days there and were back in here for some work."

While Leicester did not spend much in the transfer window, Forest brought in 21 players to bolster their chances of survival, though they have taken just four points, and Steve Cooper is not offering Rodgers any sympathy.

"Brendan is a really experienced manager and a really good manager as well, he doesn't need any sympathy or support from me. In regards to any manager, we go through all of those emotions and some guys have done it a lot longer than I've done it, I've only been doing it for three years," he said.

James Maddison has been directly involved in 11 goals (seven goals, four assists) in his last 10 Premier League games, while at the King Power Stadium he has registered seven goals and six assists in his last 14 games in the competition.

Nottingham Forest – Neco Williams

Neco Williams has attempted the most shots (15) and chances created (nine) in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest this season. His 24 shot involvements are the most by any player without registering a single goal or assist in the competition in 2022-23.

- Leicester have won just one of their last seven league meetings with Nottingham Forest (D4 L2), with this the first time the sides have faced in the league since a 2-2 draw at the City Ground in February 2014.

- Forest have lost just one of their six Premier League meetings with Leicester (W3 D2), winning the last such game between the sides 1-0 in May 1999. It turned out to be Forest's last top-flight match before their return this season.

- Having lost his last two Premier League home games with Leicester (0-1 v Manchester United and 1-2 v Southampton), Rodgers could lose three home league games in a row for the first time as a manager.

- No side have conceded more goals from set pieces (excluding pens) than Leicester and Forest (both five) in the Premier League this season, while all five conceded by Forest have been via corners, a league-high in 2022-23.

- Forest have allowed the most shot-ending high turnovers against in the Premier League so far this season (15), conceding four goals from such turnovers, twice as many as any other team.
