Smith scores 24, Radford gains 69-66 victory over Winthrop

RADFORD, Va. (AP) DaQuan Smith scored 24 points and Radford beat Winthrop 69-66 on Saturday.

Smith was 9 of 16 shooting, including 5 for 12 from distance, for the Highlanders (16-9, 10-2 Big South Conference). Bryan Antoine scored 11 points and Shaquan Jules added 10 points plus eight rebounds. It was the ninth victory in a row for the Highlanders.

Cory Hightower finished with 22 points and six rebounds for the Eagles (11-14, 6-6). Winthrop also got 12 points and 10 rebounds from Kelton Talford.
