Aston Villa beats Cardiff 2-0 in Premier League
BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) Second-half goals from Leandro Bacuna and Libor Kozak gave Aston Villa a 2-0 win over Cardiff on Saturday in the Premier League, ending the host's four-game scoring drought.
Villa looked headed for another scoreless game until Bacuna scored with a free kick in the 76th minute, having won the decision himself following a foul by Gary Medel. Kozak doubled the lead eight minutes later, heading home after substitute Matt Lowton had nodded the ball across the face of goal.
Cardiff showed little of the intensity it displayed in last weekend's Welsh derby win over Swansea and Brad Guzan was rarely troubled in the Villa goal.
